Currently
the largest Contact Less Smart Card site in India. This
installation is a comprehensive usage of Smart Card. All
members of the organisation (about 200000 in Nos.) have
Smart Card as ID cards. The organisation has quarterly
festivals during which the members converge to the site
and stay there for 3-4 days. All their boarding /lodging
and other needs are met at the site. Our system caters
to the following: |
| |
Member reception and registration at the Airport/Station
through Portable Smart Card Readers. The individual is
given a printout with his schedule, and other arrangements
for the next few days.
Access Control: Various levels exist in the organisation
and the member may move through the system based on his
seniority.
E- Cash: The system transacts about Rs 300 million
in three days. These are all through Smart Cards. The
Transaction Processing Host has eliminated the coupons,
which earlier took upto three months and about 20 people
to reconcile accounts. Now the reconciled accounts are
available on a real-time basis.
This site embodies Abacus’s System Design and Integration
capabilities. |

Needed
to protect its IPR in specific manufacturing areas as
well improve time productivity of employees working in
these sterile areas. A combination of Fingerprint scanners,
Smart card readers and Infrared beam counters was integrated
to provide a unique solution, as lack of space and speed
of throughput required prevented use of turnstiles: Every
employees fingerprint was transferred onto the chip of
his smart card using a compression algorithm which reduced
a 32 KB file to 320 bytes. Employees entered by using
their smart cards and flashing them at the readers. 30
minutes later every entry and exit switched to a fingerprint
match. All toilet breaks/smoking breaks/frequency by employee
were now available. The infrared counter tallied the physical
entry count with the flashes on the Smart card readers/
fingerprint scanners. The entry and exit flashes also
operated as a Time and attendance system. |
